MANILA, Philippines — Kevin Quiambao is all set for his pro stint in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) after finally arriving in the country.

The Goyang Sono Skygunners finally welcomed Quiambao to their team as the reigning UAAP MVP braces for his pro debut.

“It’s a surreal feeling for me as [I enter] a new chapter, first professional career here in Korea,” Quiambao said. “I’m feeling excited and I can’t wait to meet all the fans, players, and management.”

Quiambao recently finally acquired his South Korean visa after a long wait as he was finally able to travel to his next stint.

After a storied UAAP career as a La Salle Green Archer, Quiambao will embark on a new journey in South Korea.

Quiambao was a back-to-back UAAP MVP winner and a former Rookie of the Year, leading La Salle to an impressive title run in Season 86 last 2023.

However, Quiambao and the Green Archers fell short in the Season 87 finals falling to the University of the Philippines.

He opted to forgo his remaining playing year with La Salle to turn pro in the KBL.

Quiambao is set to boost Goyang, which is in ninth place with a 9-18 record.
