As per Ukrainian officials, surprise attacks were launched across the region against Russian troops. In a Telegram post on Sunday, Andriy Yermak head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office said - “Kursk region, good news, Russia is getting what it deserves.”

"In the Kursk region the Russians are deeply concerned. They were attacked on multiple fronts, which came as a surprise to them,” said Andriy Kovalenko, a senior official with Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council on Telegram.

As per TASS news agency, the Russian defence ministry stated that the attacks have been repelled.
