MANILA, Philippines — Expect rain to continue over Luzon on Christmas Day due to the effects of the shear line and the northeast monsoon (locally known as amihan), said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“Magiging maulan pa rin sa Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region at Central Luzon dahil pa rin sa epekto ng shear line,” said Pagasa weather specialist Loriedin De La Cruz – Galicia.

(It will still be rainy in Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, and Central Luzon due to the effect of the shear line.)

Likewise, isolated rain showers will prevail in the rest of Luzon due to the effects of amihan.

Meanwhile, the shear line is also expected to bring rain over Palawan and Eastern Visayas, while “improving weather” is expected over the rest of Visayas.

Mindanao, on the other hand, will have generally fair weather with chances of localized thunderstorms.

Pagasa said the temperature range in key cities or areas across the country for Christmas will be:

Metro Manila: 24 to 30 degrees Celsius Baguio City: 16 to 23 degrees Celsius Laoag City: 23 to 32 degrees Celsius Tuguegarao: 22 to 27 degrees Celsius Legazpi City: 25 to 28 degrees Celsius Puerto Princesa City: 25 to 29 degrees Celsius Tagaytay: 22 to 28 degrees Celsius Kalayaan Islands: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius Iloilo City: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius Cebu: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius Tacloban City: 24 to 30 degrees Celsius Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius Zamboanga City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius Davao City: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius Your subscription could not be saved.
