MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Sunday expressed concern over ongoing developments in Syria, urging all parties involved to exercise restraint and prevent further harm to civilians.
This followed reports that the 50-year reign of the Assad-led Syrian government fell on Sunday morning, following a rapid 10-day advance by rebels who seized control of government-held territories and entered the capital.

The department also expressed its concern for the safety and welfare of Filipinos in Syria and advised them to remain vigilant.

The DFA is closely monitoring developments in Syria and has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of Filipinos residing in the region.
